Sustainability
Being in an agricultural industry, we are intimately aware of how climate changes will impact the future of grape growing and winemaking. We’re committed to doing what we can to give back to the Earth and to farm in the most sustainable way possible. This has led us to take a few steps in our vineyard management choices. We’ve planted many different species of cover crops to nourish the soil and reduce our need for artificial fertilizers. We also use phermones and beneficial insects as pest control instead of pesticides. Lastly, our careful canopy management minimizes the need for fungicides by maintaining good airflow to prevent mold growth. Through these actions, we hope to grow better quality fruit and have a positive impact on the planet.
Science
With a strong foundation in geology, science plays a vital role at I Greppi. We have forged an incredible partnership with the Department of Viticulture and Enology at the University of California, Davis, helping to facilitate research projects between the Bolgheri Consortium and UC Davis. In addition, we sponsor recent graduates of the program to work at I Greppi, creating a direct pipeline for sharing knowledge and innovation. This collaboration keeps us at the forefront of technology and advancements in the wine industry.
Cars, Cycling, & Equestrian
We share a diversity of passions and like to celebrate that here at I Greppi.
